What to know more?

Here's some of our frequently asked questions.

01

How does your person centred planning work?

Each individual has a person centred plan which is written with input from parents/carers and their keyworkers and service users themselves. We help each person that uses our service  develop the important skills to tackle everyday challenges, getting them ready for life. We blend serious learning with fun activities to create a seamless transition between peoples homes and our learning environment.

02

What skills will the person learn?

Each learners journey is different, however we aim to include many aspects of everyday life, including learning skills in the following areas:
Money, travel, domestic chores, community gardening, music, arts & crafts, beauty, keep fit, computer & IT, healthy eating and social skills. However we are not restricted to the just these topics and it really is down to the choice of the individual to choose the path they want to take and the areas in which they want to progress. By working together we can achieve anything that the individual desires.

03

How does this help?

We help the people that use our service gain confidence and independence, this helps create satisfaction and happiness. Happiness & fulfillment helps keep families together. As both the individual and the parent/carer grow older, these life skills will become ever increasingly more important in the steps towards a more independent life.

04

Where are you based?

We are based in the heart the Leicestershire Village Rothley, our postcode is LE7 7PJ.
This spacious secure facility has a kitchen area for cookery classes, IT suites, quiet room, a common room for games and social interaction plus a sensory room. We also access local community services which include: Outdoor Gyms, Community library, nearby swimming pools, weekly discos, farms, guided walks and even a local steam railway!

05

What are your opening hours?

Our usual hours of business will 10-4 Monday to Friday; however there is an option of an out of hour’s service to help parents who may be working outside of these times.

06

How do you record progress?

We use the RARPA system (Recognising And Recording Progression and Achievement) and we email parents a report every day. This includes attaching photographic evidence of the individual completing each activity. This shows parents how we strive to reach our targets and gives parents confidence in knowing that their child is achieving with us.

This is the one feature ALL parents say they absolutely love and this sets our service apart from others.

07

Tell us about your staff team?

▪ ASD
▪ Personality Disorder
▪ Breakaway, de-escalation, preventative measures and physical intervention (PRICE)
